Ministry Coordinator – Missions

Ministry Coordinator-full-time; Woodlands Campus

Job Summary:

Woodlands Church is looking to add a ministry coordinator to our Missions team!  This role will focus on coordinating mission team ministry activities across internal groups as well as connections with volunteers and the congregation.  This role requires a high level of discretion, professionalism, and technical expertise.  This role is full time, with weekend hours required.  General schedule includes Sunday during service times, and 4 days of full-time office hours during the week.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Connect, get to know and follow up with those who sign up to serve in Missions through technology available (Rock, Social Media, Mailchimp Newsletter, Website).
  • Actively recruit volunteers for various Local Missions ministries, events, and activities.
  • Work to match volunteers with roles that align with their skills, interests, passions and availability.
  • Help facilitate orientations for new volunteers, providing information about the church’s mission, values, and specific volunteer roles.
  • Be present as needed at Missions events and outreach opportunities in the community and on campus.
  • Assist Missions lay leaders with planning and execution of approved events. Manage volunteer schedules as needed per ministry, ensuring adequate coverage for different ministry activities.
  • Ensure ministry rosters and events are correctly entered into church database
  • Assist and support all ministry needs, as directed by team leadership
  • Identify improvement opportunities for excellence and efficiency
  • Support office needs: including answering phones and performing basic office tasks, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of applicable work experience; tenure is valued
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs; additional database experience preferred
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proven time-management skills; high level of self-initiative
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • High integrity and proven ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment
