Our Mission

               

When you are going through a time of pain or crisis, you don’t have to walk it alone.
Our pastoral staff and volunteers are here to support you with both prayer support and face-to-face ministry. We have facilities and staff to offer pastoral guidance for funerals and all other tough times you may face. There are opportunities for you to get support or be a support for others walking through difficult times. with Christ by knowing, experiencing, studying and sharing God with their world.




Prayer Ministry

We have a prayer room that is manned by volunteers before and after each service on the weekends. An E-mail Team is made up of individuals who receive daily prayer requests online. A Brown Bag Prayer group meets during lunch once a month to pray for the pastoral staff. For more information, contact tdavis@wc.org.


Cancer Resource Team

Our Cancer Resource team partners with The CanCare organization, to help improve the quality of life for those walking through the cancer journey. We provide a network of resources that focus on caring for, understanding, and helping the person with cancer, and family of caregivers. For more information, contact tdavis@wc.org.



Funerals

The death of a loved one is a very substantial loss. We want to make this painful transition time of sorrow and grief less lonely and overwhelming by assisting in funeral services for our members and their families. We are available to answer questions about death and life after death. We also offer support and help to families and individuals during this very difficult and sorrowful time.


Anti-Human Trafficking Team

Our Anti-Human Trafficking Team is a group that partners with various local nonprofit organizations to help abolish and prevent human trafficking in the greater Houston area. The Anti-Human Trafficking Team has Intervention Nights that meet once a month to provide prayers, awareness, intervention and restoration to those affected. Intervention Nights: 2nd Friday of each month, 6:30pm to 9:30pm in the Edge Auditorium, contact tdavis@wc.org for more information.



GriefShare

If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. GriefShare at Woodlands Church is a ministry for people grieving the loss of someone close. This 13 week video & curriculum-based program is facilitated by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time. DivorceCare

DivorceCare is a special support group where you can find help as you recover from the hurt of separation or divorce. There aren’t many people around you who understand the pain your divorce or separation has caused. To you. Your family. Your friends. That’s the reason for DivorceCare. It’s a series of support groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. If you have questions, please contact divorcecare@wc.org.



Restoration/Celebrate Recovery

Restoration is a ministry to help people overcome life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups through worship, Biblically-balanced teaching, personal testimonies and support groups. We start the evening with worship followed by a Biblical teaching or testimony. Within Restoration, we offer Celebrate Recovery support groups and step studies as a tool to go deeper in the journey of recovery. Counseling

We provide biblically based, clinically competent, and spiritually sensitive counseling on a short term basis. We strive to promote psychological and spiritual health for individuals and couples. We help individuals and couples cope with personal and interpersonal problems through the application of biblical truths, with the Bible and the Holy Spirit serving as the primary resource and advisor for counseling and teaching. Grief Share – Atascocita

Atascocita Campus
GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. During the first 30-40 minutes of the meeting your GriefShare group will watch a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. After viewing the video, GriefShare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members. Our Spring Session will start on Monday, January 29th and will be held from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
