WOW!! WHAT A WEEK! We have had the best time this week. Thank you so much for entrusting your child to us this week. We don’t take it lightly. It has been a joy, privilege, and pleasure hanging out with your child this week. We hope it’s been a good week for you too. We hope that these devotionals have encouraged you and have provided you the opportunity to be still and draw closer to the Lord.
We challenged the kids last night to do something, and we want to challenge you with it as well. We hope that each and every child that was at camp encountered the Lord in a very real way, but now God know wants them to go and tell others about Him. Parent, we challenge you with that as well. Just like a balloon that fills up with too much air will eventually pop, we want you to be so filled with Jesus that you can’t help but explode and tell others about Him. There’s a story in the book of Mark where a man was demon possessed. He encounters Jesus and is healed. Pretty miraculous and amazing. How did the man respond when healed? Mark 5:18-20 tells us, “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the ten towns in that region how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.”
He told others about Jesus. As much as we want the next generation to tell others about Jesus, we want that for you as well. Be different, parent. Be a light in the dark world. Look for opportunities to talk about the Lord with family, neighbors, co-workers, and friends. An easy opportunity to take advantage of is to invite families with children to VBS in July. Children who attend VBS will have a blast and learn about Jesus and His unconditional love. Sign-up and share the following link for registration-
So after several days of devotions and connecting with the Lord, we don’t want this daily habit of focusing on God to end. We want you to continue growing in the Lord every day. To help you with that, here is a link for a daily devotion put together by Pastor Kerry Shook-
