Each year between Nov 1 and Christmas, our Main Lobby transforms into a Christmas wonderland! Imagine a cozy Christmas tree farm adorned with paper wishes for our congregation to browse and choose from.

Come serve with us as we prepare gifts to go to their destination. Before we go to our distribution events and give out gifts to kids and families, we have to confirm we have received all the correct gifts, wrap them and get them sorted by school.

Join our Gift Distribution Event Team to ensure every child receives their gifts and experiences holiday joy at one of our events at their school. It will be a memorable experience and allows us to bring joy and Jesus to kids this Christmas.




Gift Distribution
In 2025, we’re aiming to provide Christmas gifts for 2,100 children in our community. Each year, we purchase remaining gifts to ensure everyone on our list receives a special Christmas. Your contribution to Joy Tree helps fulfill these needs. A suggested donation is $50, but please give as you feel led.

Frequently Asked Questions:

For those interested in requesting gifts through our Joy Tree ministry, please see the details by campus below:

  • Woodlands Campus: Visit us in the main lobby before services on November 15 and 16. Families receiving gifts will be invited to our Festival of Lights on December 15th, where they can pick up gifts and experience the Festival of Lights free of charge. Additional details will be shared closer to the event.
  • Atascocita Campus: Please visit our team in the main lobby after services on Sunday, November 23 and Sunday, November 30. Families at our Atascocita Campus will have a gift pickup event leading up to Christmas, on Tuesday, December 16th from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm.
  • East River Campus: Come visit us in the lobby before or after service Sunday, Nov. 16th or Nov. 23rd. We will have a form for you to request to be a part of Joy Tree in receiving gifts.

Recipients are identified through our relationships with local schools, organizations, Woodlands Church ministries and guidance counselors at the start of the school year.

We create our list of recipients in the Fall by partnering with local schools, but we also have limited spots available for families in our church and community who are not connected to those schools.

You can purchase wish items listed on each wish, which may include toys, clothing, or other special requests tailored to the recipient. Stop by our lobby before or after services starting November 15 to browse through this year’s Wishes!

Gifts should be returned by noon on our designated Gift Return Weekends for each campus: December 7 for our Woodlands campus, December 14 by noon on our designated Gift return weekend for our Atascocita campus, and December 7th by 3pm for our East River campus.

You may begin returning your gifts on November 22, with the final deadline of December 7 for our Woodlands campus. A monitored drop-off area will be set up in the lobby during the week for your convenience.

For our Atascocita campus, You may begin returning your gifts on Sunday, November 30, with the final deadline of Sunday, December 14. Please email Jasmine Darby at jdarby@wc.org if you need to discuss an alternative drop off time.

During Gift Return Weekend, you’ll play a vital role in receiving and processing the beautifully wrapped gifts that sponsors bring back. Your responsibilities will include checking in each gift, ensuring all items are accounted for, and preparing them for a smooth distribution to families. We'll be collecting and organizing the returned gifts to ensure that they find their way to the right children in time for gift pick-up day.
